AGI glaspac, the glass division of HSIL Ltd. (formerly Hindustan Sanitary ware & Industries Ltd.)
1965: Incorporated as “The Associated Glass Industries Limited” (AGI) as a joint venture between a private promoter and State Government with Hungarian collaboration.
1980-81: Remained closed. State government decided to sell the unit to any reputed industrial house.
1981-1999-Consolidation Phase: HSIL was selected by the State Government from many competing established industrial houses in view of Somany Group’s long-standing experience in glass container Industry. HSIL rationalized the product mix and manpower and turned round the operations from continuously loss making stage to a profitable stage. Improved the product mix and added new product range. Added a large number of reputed customers.

2000 Onwards - Continuous Growth Phase :
- Installed state of the art Deep Refiner furnace for glass melting with technology and design from SORG – Germany.
- Installed 5 nos. centrifugal, energy-efficient compressors. Created 100% standby power generation facility to the tune of 9 MW.
- Upgraded bottle manufacturing machines (IS machines) technology to the latest electronic servo control system for the production of light weight containers using Blow-Blow and Press-Blow process.
- Created 100% in-house mould design and manufacturing capability, by installing state of the art CAD and high precision CNC machines.
- Upgraded decorative printing section (ACL) for value addition with an investment of Rs.150 million (3.2million US$), making it the largest ACL facility in the country.
- Installed high technology emission control and water treatment equipments.
- Obtained ISO-9001:2000, ISO-14001, OHSAS certifications.
- Turnover increased during the above period from Rs.40 million (2million US$) to Rs.3570 million (75million US$).
- Product range increased from 100 types to over 500 types of bottles.
- Actively implemented energy conservation measures from 1991, bringing down energy consumption/Unit production continuously.
- Established a green field 450 tpd state of the art container glass manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 2500 million (52million US$) at Bhongir,A.P State.
